Jazz is a performance dance technique and style that first emerged in the United States in the early twentieth century. Jazz dance may refer to vernacular jazz or to Broadway or theatrical jazz. Jazz dance is no longer solely the domain of fan kicks and shimmies.... A great jazz dancer owns their dancing with power, technique, confidence and style.
ISTD TAP DANCE 8+
WEDNESDAY 17:15-18:00
Tap dancing is a lively and rhythmic form of dance where performers wear special shoes with metal plates on the heels and toes. As they move, they strike the floor to create percussive sounds, turning their feet into musical instruments. Tap dance blends movement and music, emphasizing timing, rhythm, and coordination.
While tap is a fantastic dance genre on its own—full of energy, creativity, and musicality—it’s also a great complement to other styles. We highly recommend students consider learning tap alongside ballet and jazz. Together, these styles build a strong, versatile foundation in dance, enhancing overall technique, performance skills, and rhythm.

MUSICAL THEATRE SONG & DANCE
FRIDAY'S 12+ 17:30-18:30

Serena’s classes are designed to prepare students for RSL(Rock School London) Stage School musical theatre exams, which combine singing, acting, and dance in a group setting. With a warm and encouraging teaching style, Serena is passionate about helping every student grow as a confident, expressive performer.
Our RSL Musical Theatre Song & Dance Exam Classes are a fun, supportive way for students to build performance skills while working towards a recognised qualification. We’ll be focusing on musical theatre repertoire with a strong emphasis on storytelling, characterisation, and ensemble work. Students can also gain UCAS points from Grade 6 upwards, which is a brilliant bonus for students when we reach those grades. It is not compulsory for students to take exams, they’ll still be working to the expected standard, giving them a great head start as they progress through the grades.
